Pledge of allegiance (Contract; Homage) Making a pledge of allegiance to the blessed family of Allah's Prophet, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, or to their descendents, or true Gnostics and leaders among his followers in a dream means following true guidance, walking on the straight path and truly observing the divine laws and abiding by them. Poverty If someone sees himself asking for something, and if he is given what he is asking for in a dream, it means that he will receive money without trouble, or that he will earn easy money, for earning one's livelihood with mere asking in a dream means a business without capital investment, or receiving without having to give anything in return. Rainbow If it appears on one's left side in the dream, then it means prosperity and a good harvest. As for poor people, seeing a rainbow on one's right side also means richness, while for a rich person it means short lived difficulties. Leek • Dreaming of leeks or wild leeks: (1) Money from a deaf person. (2) Benefits and welfare. (3) The poor will obtain their rights.
• Eating leeks: (1) Will eat up too much money and commit a sin, which will bring about notoriety. (2) Will say something and be sorry for it.

Zebra • Introducing a zebra in your house: A vain and irreligious person will mix with your family.
• Bringing a zebra to your house as prey to eat: Welfare and booty.

Sheep Sheep are a booty. Black sheep are Arabs; white ones are aliens. The ewe, or female sheep, is a well-off or rather wealthy woman. The billy goat is an awesome man or, on the contrary, a slave, a Negro, or even an ignorant person, to borrow the expression of Ibn Siren. The same interpretation of dreams involving a ram applies to it. The she-goat symbolizes a humble or humiliated woman or a jobless servant, because her body is uncovered where it should not be, like the poor. It also refers to the average year. Sing Nice singing means profitable business. The reverse is also true. The singer himself is regarded as a knowledgeable and wise person and a reminder. For rich people singing in the marketplace alludes to scandals and ugly traps. For the poor the same dream means that they will lose their mind. Some interpreters believe that singing refers to clamour, uproar, disputes, strong arguments, and wrestling in view of the gesticulations in dancing that are associated with singing and sometimes resemble a fight. Tongue • The tongue having been severed: The dreamer will be patient and tolerant.
• Dreaming that his wife has cut off his tongue: The dreamer will be nice and good to her.
• The wife’s tongue having been severed: She is virtuous and discreet.
• Cutting the tongue of a poor person: The dreamer will give something to a fool or a prodigal.

Adam If one becomes Adam or a companion of his and should he qualify for such promotion, it means that he will attain it. Adam also represents the element of temporal existence. Seeing him in a dream also implies understanding, for he was the first to see dreams in this world and to interpret the name of things. Hell (1) Difficulties are ahead. (2) The dreamer is seeking some kind of learning that will bring him a tragedy. (3) The dreamer will shed others blood.
• The dreamer’s face turning black in Hell: He is befriending an enemy of God and condoning his actions, which will blacken his face in people’s eyes. He should beware of God.
• Dreaming of being locked in Hell without knowing when one had entered: The subject is still poor, deprived, and miserable on earth and neither prays nor fasts nor observes any religious tenet. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Leg • Dreaming that one’s leg has been removed: Wife will be ill.
• One’s leg having been amputated: The dreamer will lose one-half of his fortune or become crippled.
• Both legs being amputated: The dreamer will lose all his money and strength.
• Having many legs: (1) If planning a trip, will have a comfortable and fruitful one. (2) If poor, will strike it rich. (3) If rich, will be ill.

Serving To serve the poor in a dream, to humble oneself to them, to lower one's wings to the believers, to stand before the righteous people with respect and obey their instructions in a dream means being extremely lucky in Allah's sight, and that one can anticipate a good conclusion to his life in this world. It also could mean joining the company of Gnostics and the circles of righteous people in this world, and Allah willing, one will rise in station in this world and in the hereafter. Spleen • Having a strong spleen: Relief, as this organ is the backbone of the body.
• Having pain in the spleen: The dreamer will sustain enormous financial losses, starting with his capital, which he and his family rely upon. He might lose his life in that process.

Ashura (10th day of Muharram; Anniversary of the martyrdom of Husain at Kerbela.) If a descendent of the blessed family of Allah's Messenger, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, sees himself on the day of Ashura in a dream, it means that he may have to face an adversity. Bride If one recognizes his bride, looks at her, and if she is named in the dream, it means that he will marry the same woman. If one sees himself getting married in a dream, it means that he will gain power equal to the position of that woman, her role, danger, her family's status, the meaning of her name, and her beauty. Entering Paradise If he is poor, it means that he will become rich or receive an inheritance. If a sick person sees himself in the abode of the hereafter healthy again in a dream, it means that he will reach it free from the ills of this world, its adversities and temptations. If he is not sick, then entering the realms of the hereafter means glad tidings, business success, a pilgrimage, ascetic detachment from this world, sincere devotion, acquiring knowledge, strengthening of one's kinship or exercising patience toward a calamity which derives from one's own sins. Testicles (Male reproductive glands) In a dream, testicles represent the elements of husband and wife, one's two children, trade, business, doors, doormen, money pouch, or the female members of one's family, including sisters, daughters, mother or aunts. Bathroom According to Imam Jaafar Al-Sadeq (see biography at the beginning of this book), the bathroom could symbolize seven things: (1) The patriarch of the family. (2) A valuable woman. (3) Troubles and unhappiness. (4) A debt. (5) Delay or obstacles. (6) Confirmation or a seal. (7) A loan. For other interpreters, including Ibn Siren and Al-Kirmani:

Dress • The dead giving the dreamer an old robe: The latter will become poor and miserable.
• The dead giving the dreamer a new robe: The latter will become rich and powerful.
• Holding one’s Arab robe and telling a dead person, “Take this and sew it,” or, “wash it,” without the cloth leaving the dreamer’s hand or becoming the property of the dead: Trouble, hardships, and depression. Angels If a dying person is told in the dream that no angels have come to see him, then it is a testimony of his good character and piety, or it could mean payment of one's debts or recovering from an illness. Angels in a dream also could represent scholars, Gnostics or translators who understand people's languages and speak in many tongues. As for Munkar and Nakir, the angels who come to one's grave upon his burial to question him, seeing them in a dream means prosperity for a poor person, and finding work for a jobless person.
