Quranic recital Hearing, or reading any Quranic chapter which is customarily read for a deceased person in a dream, signifies the death of a sick person in that family. Professional Quran readers in a dream represent the leading people of the society. To hear a professional Quranic recital in a dream means that people in authority will soon gather in the place where the recital is seen in one's dream. If one sees himself reading his book of records on the Day of Judgment in a dream, and if he is an unlettered person in wakefulness, it means that he will become rich after having suffered from poverty, and that he will answer all the questions he will be asked on the Day of Reckoning, or that he will be protected by Allah Almighty from what he fears most. This happens if one's reading of his own records is positive, but if it reads his sins and pitfalls in the dream, then it denotes distress, trouble, or sufferings. Asylum The asylum, or mental institution, symbolizes frequent travel, asceticism, the heeding of God and reading of the Holy Quran, the stoppage of income, the end of wedlock, the abandoning of children, repentances, the return of religious faith, relief from worries, and sometimes diphtheria (the suffocation disease, to borrow the expression of Al-Nabulsi). It could also represent the bathroom, as madness was believed by the ancient Arabs to be associated with demons and because, like the bathroom, the mental institution is a place where people take off their clothes, show their private parts, and exhibit repulsive manners. For some interpreters, the madhouse refers to the school, because, there, the inpatients were educated by force, in ancient times, and taught to read and write and know the Quran. Angel • A good person dreaming that an angel is ordaining him to read the Book of Allah: A stern warning in view of the Quranic verse: “And it will be said unto him, ‘Read thy book. Maqam Ibrahim (The Station Of Abraham, Near The Kabah In Mecca (Makkah) The Quran says: “The First House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka (Mecca (Makkah)): Full of blessings and of guidance for all kinds of beings. In it are Signs manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to God” (“Al-Imran” [The Imran Family], verses 96–97.)

Incident - holding a Water-Bird, trying to Slaughter it with a knife Tonight will be the fifth nigh.” The Imaam smiled and after a little while said: “Come near me. One more thing remains to be told”. The man drew closer and asked: “What remains to be told, my Lord?” He said: “The girl let loose wind aloud as well”. Fly • A traveller dreaming that flies have landed on his head: Should fear highwaymen who could intercept and rob him, in view of a verse in the Holy Quran that reads as follows: “… And if the fly took something from them, they could not rescue it from it. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought!” (“Al-Hajj” [The Pilgrimage], verse 73.)
• A fly landing on something belonging to the dreamer: Hide your money from eventual thieves.

Incident - The Effect of a Dream's Meaning During a pilgrimage to Mecca, a sheikh was told in a dream that he would die on such and such date. When he returned home, he held that dream to himself and waited for the time to come. Once he passed that date stated in his dream, he waited a few more days, then told someone about it, saying: "I would have hot told you about this dream, had the date not passed." The person replied: "Perhaps you miscalculated the date, or maybe it is a confused dream." After returning to his home, the sheikh died during that same night. Satan • A sick or sad person dreaming that he has been touched by Satan: Will recover and strike it rich in view of verses in the Holy Quran that read: “And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Ayyoub (Job), when he cried unto his Lord: Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. (And it was said unto him) Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding.” (“Sad,” verses 41–43.) Fasting Fasting the three white days of every month (i.e., the 13th, 14th, and the 15th days of the lunar month) in a dream means repayment of one's debts in instalments or teaching someone how to properly read the Quran or spreading knowledge. Angels (Celestial beings; Heavenly beings) If one sees the heavenly angels (arb. Malaika) coming before him to congratulate him in a dream, it means that Allah Almighty has forgiven that person his sins and endowed him with patience, through which he will attain success in this life and in the hereafter. If one sees the heavenly angels greeting him or giving him something in the dream, it means that his insight will grow, or that he maybe martyrized. If one sees angels descending upon a locality that is raging with a war in a dream, it means that the dwellers of that place will win victory. Silver • Seeing one’s wife wearing two earrings of gold and silver or one of gold and the other of silver: The dreamer will divorce her. A man once went to a dream interpreter and told him, “I dreamed that my wife was wearing a ring, half gold and half silver.” The interpreter said, “You divorced her twice, and there remains only the last time.” “Yes,” conceded the man.
• A man seeing himself wearing a silver earring: He will memorize all the Holy Quran. If the man is honest, he will have beautiful maids, in view of a verse in the Holy Quran that says: “Round about them will serve, (devoted) to the, youths (handsome) as pearls well-guarded.” (“Al-Tur” [The Mount], verse 24) , and other verses that say: “And (there will be) companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes, like unto pearls well-guarded.” (“Al-Waqiah” [The Event], verses 22–23.) Incident - Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa and reading Qur'an Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa once visited Hamza Bin Al-Habib Al-Zayyat, God bless his soul, who had memorized the Holy Qur'an and read it with great devotion, seeking God's pleasure, and saw him crying and rubbing his cheeks with dust. He exclaimed: "I call upon God's protection for you. Oh Hamza, what is this crying?" Hamza replied: "Last night, I saw in a dream that the Day of Resurrection took place. The readers of the Qur'an were called in to stand before God Almighty, and I was among them. I then heard an amiable voice saying: 'Only those who lived by the Qur'an should enter.' I was in shock, so I began to withdraw. A voice called my name: "Where are you going to, Oh Hamza Bin Al-Zayyat?' I cried out: 'At thy command, Oh caller to my Lord.' Cat The cat symbolizes a book in view of a verse in the Holy Quran in which the word qitt, meaning in Arabic “cat,” is used as a synonym for “written fate” or “sentence” (“Sad”, verse 16). It could also symbolize the neglect of the woman and children or their harsh treatment. But the cat is one of the most controversial figures in dreams. Some regard it as a servant and a guardian, others as a thief from within the house (an insider). It refers to all beings who stay around the person to guard him but who, at the same time, embezzle, steal, or harm him and are, in fact, of no use to him. For example, being bitten or scratched by a cat would mean that the dreamer will be betrayed by his servant or will fall ill. Quranic Verses • Reading verses on torture and being unable to read the ones on compassion and mercy when the dreamer reaches them: Hardships will continue.
• Reading “Ayatul Kursi,” the 255th verse of “Surat Al-Baqarah” (The Cow or the Heifer), very much in use for exorcism: Will be safe from plagues, desires will be fulfilled will be cured if ill, prestige would be enhanced and will be more intelligent and blessed with a strong memory.

Doomsday • An angel handing over a Scripture or a book to the dreamer and commanding him to read: (1) Good dream for a pious person, meaning joy. (2) The fate of an irreligious dreamer is in jeopardy in view of the Quranic verse: “ (And it will be said unto him): Read thy book. Thy soul sufficeth as reckoner against thee this day.” (“Bani Israil” [The Children of Israel], verse 14.)
• Walking along the path: The dreamer is scrupulously observing religious tenets.

Incident - The father that hid his money In the morning, the son told a friend about his dream and added: "It is a fairy tale!" A few days later, the father came back to his son in another dream and said: "I have told you about something that will benefit you and that will free me from my limbo, but you failed to do it!" The son woke up in shock and immediately went to the place his father indicated in the dream. When he dug out the money, he paid his father's debts and benefited from his unanticipated inheritance. Spiritual gathering His condition will change from tightness to abundance. He will repay his debts and overcome his oppressors. If one sees a spiritual gathering where Allah's Name is glorified, the holy Quran is read and wisdom is spoken in his dream, it means that such a place will be established as a spiritual center or as a mosque. Such a place will also become a center where spiritual leaders and governors will gather and speak. Dream interpreter Telling a dream interpreted a dream in one's dream, and if the explanation agrees with the common wisdom and religious norms of the Holy Quran and the traditions of Allah's Prophet, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, then whatever one is told in his dream is true. If one does not understand the explanation of the dream interpreter in his dream, then he might need to find a qualified interpreter in wakefulness to satisfy his needs. Pearl • Piercing beautifully shaped and lined up pearls: Will interpret the Holy Quran in a correct manner.
• Piercing a pearl with a wooden nail: Will make love to a prohibited relative. A man told Ibn Siren he dreamed that he was piercing a pearl. “Do you know your mother?” the interpreter asked. “No, she was taken captive when I was a small child.” “Have you recently bought a slave?” “Yes.” “Do you sleep with her?” “Yes.” “Then fear God, for she is that mother.”

Highwayman - Or Any Assailants, Bandits Or Robbers Who Intercept A Person • A highwayman stealing something from the dreamer: The person seen in the role of the highwayman will lie and contradict the dreamer.
• Seeing oneself as a highwayman or stealing someone’s belongings: The dreamer will be severely ill, then recover.
• A gang surging from nowhere to manhandle the dreamer: The dreamer will triumph over enemies in view of a verse of the Holy Quran that reads: “That (is so). And if one has retaliated to no greater extent than the injury he received, and is again set upon inordinately, God will help him; for God is the One That blots out (sins) and forgives (again and again).” (“Al-Hajj” [The Pilgrimage], verse 60.)
