Blowing To blow into fire in a dream means kindling a conflict or exasperating and intensifying it. Sweat Sweating means harm. According to Abu Said Al-Waez: • Wiping one’s sweat: Wishes will be fulfilled. • A ruler dreaming of stinking perspiration from under the armpit: Will overspend and earn a bad reputation. • A commoner dreaming of stinking perspiration: Will commit adultery. Bite (Champing; Chomp; Love; Rancor) In a dream, a bite signifies perfidy, rancor or extreme love for the one who is bitten in a dream. If one bites himself then spits a piece of his own flesh on the ground in a dream, it means backbiting and belittling others. Biting one's own fingers in a dream means regret or fury, rage and anger. Flesh According to Ibn Siren, it makes no difference whether the eaten person is a man or a woman, but the younger the subject, the more likely the dream will come true. • Eating another person’s flesh raw: Will slander that person or backbite one of his relatives. • Eating another person’s flesh cooked or grilled: Will swallow the other’s capital. • Biting and snatching one’s own flesh and spitting it on the ground: The dreamer is an evil person and a slanderer. The Prophet Muhammad's (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) Seeing People Barely Covered Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said, "While I was sleeping, some people were displayed before me (in a dream). They were wearing shirts, some of which were merely covering their breasts, and some a bit longer. Then there passed before me, 'Umar bin Al-Khattab wearing a shirt he was dragging it (on the ground behind him.)" Grave Digger and Excavator To see a grave digger or excavator in the dream means death for the one who sees it provided any of the following happens; he pushes the grave digger away from his place; his animal tramples the grave digger, the grave digger falls on the ground; he himself is in the state of sakraat. But if any of the following happens then he will either lose his job or die; he rolls up his bedding; his turban or topi falls off from his head; his hand gets cut off from his body; his tongue is cut off; he becomes blind. Satan • A sick or sad person dreaming that he has been touched by Satan: Will recover and strike it rich in view of verses in the Holy Quran that read: “And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Ayyoub (Job), when he cried unto his Lord: Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. (And it was said unto him) Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding.” (“Sad,” verses 41–43.) Spit Spittle symbolizes a man’s wealth and power or capabilities. Warm spittle is a reference to life, while cold spittle alludes to death. • Spitting: The dreamer is backbiting. • Spitting on a wall: (1) The dreamer is investing in business. Seeds If one sees himself trying to plant something which is not a plant, or to place a seed in an unsuitable ground in a dream, it means that he is wasting his money and squandering his property. To plant seeds in a dream also could mean knowledge, wealth or recognizing a noble trade. Sprouted seeds in a dream represent honor and status. Head • Recovering one’s head, which had fallen without reason: (1) Financial gains. (2) Will recover, if ill. • Replacing one’s severed head and seeing it working: Will be killed in Jihad (holy struggle). • Seeing a head on a metal or wooden spearhead: A reference to a high-ranking official. • Seeing a head in a container stained with blood: A chief is lying to the dreamer. • The neck having been hit with a sword, sending the head reeling on the ground: (1) If ill, will heal. Bier • Plenty of biers put on the ground in a given place: The folk of that place are corrupt and indulging in adultery. • A woman dreaming that she has died and been carried on a bier: Will get married. If already married, will relinquish her religion. • Biers in the souk (marketplace): That market is full of adulterated goods and hypocrisy. • Falling from one’s bier: Will be demoted; business and other interests will be stalled, and prestige will be lost. • A well-known man placed on a bier with nobody approaching or carrying it: The subject of the dream will go to jail. Rain • The soil “raining up” blood or stones: Sufferings. • Raining mostly blood or dust: Injustice on the part of the ruler. • Raining dust without the latter forming a screen that reduces visibility: Fertility. • Raining swords: Controversies, disputes, and perhaps a civil strife in the area. • Raining watermelons: A disease or an epidemic. • Raining all over the town: The areas inhabitants will be calumniated. • Rain pouring from all sides, uprooting trees and throwing them on the ground: intrigue and death at the hands of the ruler. Beard • The beard reaching the ground: The dreamer will die. • A boy below the age of puberty having a beard: Bad dream. He might die before reaching that age, in view of the element of prematurity, which is always a bad omen. • Taking somebody else’s beard in one’s hand and pulling it: Will inherit the fortune of that man and eat it up. • A slight decrease in the beard: Ease, the settlement of debts and relief. • A considerable decrease in the beard heralds an ordeal and the withering away of money and prestige. • Seeing somebody with an imperial talking to one’s wife: Confusion and a cleavage with beloved ones, because Satan, according to Ibn Siren, had an imperial rather than a full beard when he incited Eve. Stone Stones of a structure or on the ground symbolize the dead, the ignorant, the idle, and the atheists. Arab wise men used to describe the people of the pre-Islamic era as stones. • Turning into stone: Will disobey God and lose faith, have a stone heart, or become crippled. • Seizing, buying, or standing on stones: Will triumph over a man or marry a woman showing similarities to such a stone. • Stones falling from the sky: Calamities brought about by a tyrant. Removing stones or mountains: Is attempting something difficult. • Hitting a stone with a stick to see water coming out of it: Will get rich. If already wealthy, will become richer. Seeds Planting seeds in a dream represent the element of progeny and procreation. Scattered seeds on the ground in a dream mean bearing a child for each seed. As for the grains that are germinated for medicinal purpose, when seen in a dream, they mean acquiring knowledge that helps the person in question to increase his or her piety and ascetic detachment from worldly matters. Pumpkin, cucumber, eggplant, sweet basil, chard, onion, cabbage, Indian corn and melon seeds in a dream mean abating or ceasing of difficulties and disturbances, or they could mean recovering from a terminal illness. Entering a house If it is customary for such a person to enter that place, then no harm will incur from his coming or going. If one sees himself entering a house of unfamiliar substance, ground or structure, and if he meets departed souls whom he recognizes in the dream, it means that he has entered the realms of the dead. If he sees himself going into that sphere, then coming out of it in the dream, it means that he will near his death, then recover from a serious illness. Moon If the moon disappears in the skies in a dream, it means that one's business has come to a halt, or that something he has asked for will not materialize, whether it be good or evil. If the moon reappears in the dream, it means that one will receive what he is seeking, and again, whether it is good or bad for him. Seeing a bright and a radiant moon in the skies in a dream means justice and prosperity. Seeing the moon inside one's house in a dream means that a guest or a traveller will soon arrive. Snot According to Ibn Siren, the mucus from the nose symbolizes the making of children, in view of the popular belief that the cat emanated from the lion’s snot. • Having mucus in the nose: Wife is pregnant. • Blowing one’s nose: (1) Will settle debts. (2) Will be relieved from a certain worry. (3) Will punish some people for a certain deed. • Putting snot on the ground: Will have a daughter. • Putting snots on one’s wife: She will conceive a male child but have a miscarriage. • The wife putting snots on the dreamer: (1) She will give birth to a boy. Padlock Breaking a lock and entering a house in a dream represents a conqueror or benefits that will come through such a person. A padlock in a dream also represents a bolt, a door latch, one's son, a handicapped wife, taking shelter away from one's enemy, a hidden treasure, or a burial ground. A padlock in a dream also may denotes sorcery, concealing secrets, or hindrances obstructing one's travel plans. Putting a padlock on one's door in a dream means prosperity after suffering from poverty, or receiving honors after being humiliated.
