Gourd The gourd, also called vegetable marrow, pumpkin, squash, and winter squash, alludes to the recovery of a sick person. Its vine is a knowledgeable man or a blessed and sociable doctor who benefits people. It could also refer to a poor man. A gourd is favoured by most interpreters, like meat and eggs.

Hell • Dreaming of having entered Hell: (1) The dreamer is committing such sins and abominations as would deserve capital punishment. (2) The dreamer will serve as a judge.

Quince A quince in a dream also represents a beautiful and a noble woman. Many interpreters disliked the quince fruit because of its yellowish color, and they mostly qualify it to mean sickness because of the constipation it causes if eaten raw. However, its yellowish color also can be interpreted as the color of gold. Seeing or eating a quince in a dream also means travelling with good companions, though some of them may be of no benefit. Vegetable Most dream interpreters do not like vegetables or legumes, pulses, and similar herbs on the ground that they contain no fats and are not even sweet. They regard them as passing trade, a hazy post, or a child or money that is not destined to survive. According to them, vegetables also symbolize transient sorrow and worries. Baker If one sees himself buying bread from a baker and if the baker does not look at how much money is tendered in the dream, it means that the baker is a noble man, and he is capable of doing good deeds without anticipating a reward. A baker in a dream also represents someone who brings benefits to others, for they all need him. Receiving a loaf of bread from a baker in a dream means earning an honest income. If one who is not a baker sees himself baking bread and selling it to people in a dream, it means that he solicit customers for a prostitute. Bowl (Cup; Plate; Tray) In a dream, a bowl represents man's money pouch or what his wife would like to receive from him. If one sees himself receiving a bowl filled with sweets in a dream, it means receiving abundance of love from one's beloved. If the bowl is filled with sour food or some green raw vegetables in the dream, it means that animosity will develop on the part of his beloved, and it will provoke despise and fighting between husband and wife. Flesh Views on certain items of this chapter are widely divided and sometimes diametrically opposed. For instance, according to Al-Nabulsi:
• Eating somebody’s flesh: Will speak ill of such a person in his absence.
• Eating one’s own flesh: Will eat up gains. According to Ibn Siren, will eat away savings or whatever is hoarded. For Ibn Shaheen:
• Eating human flesh: Financial gains in any case. If the person whose flesh is being eaten is known to the dreamer, the latter will take a bite at the victim’s purse or property. In case the dreamer is eating such flesh voraciously and with great appetite while blood is spilling imminent, unquestionable, and huge financial gains will be achieved. Mouth (Cellar) In a dream, one's mouth represents his life from inception to completion. One's mouth in a dream also represents the course of one's livelihood and the source of his strength. Putting medicine in one's mouth in a dream means correcting one's life for the better. If one puts food in his mouth in a dream, it means worldly gains and profits, unless one puts something that tastes bad, or which is spoiled, then it means losses, distress and depression. Putting good and tasty food or sweets in one's mouth in a dream means living a happy and a rich life. Food Eating from someone else's hand in a dream also can be interpreted as a sickness or inability to eat with one's own hand. Eating sweets in a dream means solving a problem through kindness. If the food is greasy in the dream, it means that one's problem is a lasting one. Sour food in a dream means steadfastness. Sour food in one's mouth in a dream also means pain and sufferings. Yellow food in a dream means sickness, except for fowl's meat. Drinking food the way one drinks liquids in a dream means increase in one's earnings. Eating at a wedding in a dream means glad tidings. Wheel If the rolling wheel produces a sweet sensation or an enchanting sound in the dream, it means good news. Otherwise, a roaring sound of a wheel means a cry of jealousy or selfish love. Medlar tree (Crab apple; Crataegus azarolus; Mespilus germanica) Eating a bitter tasting apple like fruit of the medlar tree or any of such varieties that are also used in making preserves, or eaten yellow, spoiled, or unripened in a dream means a sickness. The more yellowish is its color in the dream, the more pain and suffering such an sickness will bring. Eating a green medlar fruit in a dream represents no such danger. Eating any yellowish fruit in a dream represents a sickness, except for citron, apples, or the lotus fruit, for their yellow color in the dream does not cause any harm, since their substance is a viable medicinal cure. Paradise • Seeing oneself in Paradise: The dreamer will acquire wisdom and knowledge.
• Entering Paradise with a smile: The dreamer is recalling God very often.
• Unsheathing one’s sword and entering Paradise: The dreamer is advocating and promoting virtue and dissuading from vice. He will be praised and rewarded for his actions.
• Sitting under the Joy Tree: The dreamer will have the best of two worlds in view of the verse in the Holy Quran that says: “Those who believe and do right: Joy is for them, and bliss (their) journey’s end.” (“Al-Raad” [The Thunder], verse 29.)
• Seeing oneself in Paradise’s parks and gardens: The dreamer will be blessed with fidelity and religious perfection.
• Eating some of the fruits of Paradise: The dreamer will acquire learning, as much as was eaten.

Plum In a dream, plums in season represent health and welfare. Otherwise, out of season, plums represent distress and difficulties. However, everybody draws benefits from seeing a plum tree in a dream. If one sees himself eating a sweet and ripened plum in a dream, it means that he will satisfy his pleasures, passions, and wantonness. If it tastes sour in the dream, then it represents his fear. Pomegranate The pomegranate tree is a man who has the best of two worlds. Its thorns prevent him from committing sins. It could also represent a woman, and eating it is a good thing, according to Ibn Siren. Cutting it down means that the dreamer will fail to support his family and in-laws. Sweet pomegranate or one of an unspecified taste symbolizes a fortune that the dreamer has gathered. Sour pomegranate is troubles and worries. Sugar (Kiss; Sweet) Sugar in a dream represents joy, festivities, recovering from an illness, dispelling anxiety, putting worries aside, fulfilling one's aspirations, reaching one's goals, completing one's duty, a noble wife, a blessed son, an intelligent child, or a son who is a genius in all crafts. A Stream in the House A clean stream with sweet water flowing in or through the house symbolizes a pure and clean life. But if the water is seen in the form of a spring emitting gfrom within the walls or any such place from which the flowing of water is regarded as strange and absurd, if suggest that the folks of that settlement will be visidted with some calamity causing them much grief, sorrow, fear and weeping, the intensity of which will depend on the force of the water gushing out from such a spring. Marjoram (bot. Mint; Sweet marjoram; Wild marjoram) Smelling a marjoram plant in a dream means recovering from an illness and enjoying a good health for that year. Planting a marjoram in a dream means begetting a healthy and a beautiful child who will grow to possess a good character. Fasting Dreams about fasting have contradictory interpretations:
• Dreaming of being in the Muslims month of fasting (Ramadan): (1) Higher prices (inflation) and scarcity of foodstuffs. (2) Sound religion, end of worries, recovery from a disease, the settlement of debts.
• Having fasted the entire month of Ramadan: (1) Certainty after doubt. (2) If the dreamer was illiterate, he would memorize the Holy Quran.
• Dreaming of recognizing the utility of fasting and wishing to fast: Quick benefits from an unexpected source.
• Failing to fast during the month of Ramadan: (1) The dreamer is giving way to his instinct and passions. (2) The dreamer will have a blessed journey.
• Dreaming of having deliberately and overtly eaten throughout the month of Ramadan, instead of fasting like other Muslims: (1) The dreamer is disregarding religious rules. (2) The dreamer will commit a premeditated murder. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Bread Eating bread with its crusts in a dream is like eating honey with its beeswax. Oven fresh bread when eaten in one's dream is best. Bread in a dream represents woman's chastity. Bread made with bleached flour means living a clean life, having pure knowledge, or a beautiful wife. If a student sees himself distributing bread among poor people in a dream, it means that he will attain his goals and succeed in his studies. If he is a preacher, it means that people are accepting his admonitions and advice. Otherwise, if he sees people crowding over him to get their bread in the dream, it means that people will seek what he has to offer. In that case, his position is better than theirs, for the giving hand is better than the receiving one.
