Aqiq Is a name given by Arabs to a very large variety of semiprecious stones, if not all of them. It translates as cornelian, if the stone is reddish, or agate, if otherwise. The clearer and the more reddish the stone, the more expensive it is. In any case, for pious Muslims Aqiq is invaluable, in view of a Hadeeth (statement reportedly made by the Holy Prophet) according to which Aqiq repels poverty. It is also believed to have been the first stone that recognized the unicity of God (sic).20 The best quality is the one found in Yemen, hence the appellation Aqiq yamani, and the Muslims first choice is the white color and also the brownish red called in Arabic rommani kabedy, which literally means “having the color of liver like pomegranate.” There are also famous varieties called jaze, a kind of black and/or white beads, and sabaj, which is utterly black. Lesser qualities are simply called kharaz, or beads. It is noteworthy that Hobal, the Arabs foremost idol before Islam prevailed, was said to be made of Aqiq. Its eyes were fascinating. Bier • Plenty of biers put on the ground in a given place: The folk of that place are corrupt and indulging in adultery.
• A woman dreaming that she has died and been carried on a bier: Will get married. If already married, will relinquish her religion.
• Biers in the souk (marketplace): That market is full of adulterated goods and hypocrisy.
• Falling from one’s bier: Will be demoted; business and other interests will be stalled, and prestige will be lost.
• A well-known man placed on a bier with nobody approaching or carrying it: The subject of the dream will go to jail. If he is a stranger: Bad omen for the dreamer. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
Saffron (Aroma; Perfume; Stigma) In a dream, If dried saffron does not stain the skin or a gown, then it represents lauding someone, commending him, or speaking good of someone. If its color does stain the skin or one's gown in the dream, then it represents an illness. Grinding the dried purple saffron flowers in a dream to use it as powder, or as an additive for making perfumes in a dream represents a severe illness, though many people will pray for the recovery of the person who is struck by it, but to no avail. Adam • Seeing Adam as if talking to the dreamer: Will acquire knowledge
• Seeing Adam in a different color and shape than usually conceived of by the dreamer: Will move from one place to another, then return to the first place.
• Becoming Adam or acquiring one of his qualities or characteristics: (1) The dreamer will succeed the ruler, if eligible for such a privilege. (2) People will benefit from the dreamer’s knowledge if he is a learned man, or he himself will obtain unequalled knowledge.
• Seeing Adam in good shape: Magnificent welfare.
• Seeing Adam in a deteriorating condition: The dreamer’s master will be impoverished or his power will wane or the dreamer’s fortune will decrease and his craft or profession will no longer be in demand.

Pawn (Collateral; Deposit; Hostage; Mortgage; Security) In a dream, a pawn represents goods that are deposited to secure a loan, or it could mean changes in one's life for the better. To deposit something valuable as a security for something worthless in a dream means falling in love with an insolent man who will abuse the woman, take advantage of her, or use her for his own interests. Signing a collateral in a dream also represents the lack of trust between the lender and the borrower. Otherwise, a security deposit may denote a journey. Lips Lips in a dream also represent a door attendant, boys, guards, locks, knowledge, guidance, food, drinks, marriage, happiness, sadness, or keeping secrets. Having no lips in a dream means loosing any of the above, or one's dream could mean a broken door, or loosing one's keys, or perhaps it could mean the death of one's parents, husband or wife. Lips in a dream also represent the livelihood of singers or musicians who play wind instruments for a living, or the livelihood of a glass blower. If one's lips look thin and rosy in a dream, they denote clarity of speech, guidance, good food, good drink and happiness. Thick lips with black or blue color in a dream represent laziness, languor, failure to present a verifiable proof or to bring a strong witness, or they could mean discomfort, or difficulty in earning one's livelihood. If a sick person sees his lips black or blue in a dream, it could mean his death. Closed lips in a dream represent one's eyelids, a vagina, the anus, the banks of a river or a well. Silk Seeing loose silk in a dream means being enamored, or falling in love. If a person in authority wears silk in a dream, it represents his arrogance. Wearing yellow or red silk in a dream means a sickness. If a warrior wears one of these two colors in his dream, it means that he will be decorated for his chivalry. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Banquet (Ceremonial dinner) Attending a banquet or giving a banquet in a dream means dispelling distress and overcoming adversities. A banquet in a dream also means celebrating a new appointment or receiving honorary guests. However, a banquet in a dream also denotes distress, sorrow or grief. Horse • A horse dying at a person’s hands or in his house: The death of such a person.
• Riding on a white-footed horse with a white fringe and all white harness while dressed as a full-fledged horseman: Will gain power and prestige, merit praise, and live secure from all enemies. A bay, roan, or reddish brown horse would be best if the dreamer were a combatant. The salamander (a color of Arab horses) refers to dignity and disease.
• Riding on a horse and making it run till it sweats: Will be overcome by passion and commit sins to earn your living. It is noteworthy that sweat emanating from running is an expenditure on some sinful matter, in view of the verse of the Holy Quran that reads: “Run (flee) not, but return to the good things of this life which were given you, and to your homes, in order that ye may be called to account. Reddish beard (Red-brown) Unless one has a reddish beard as the natural color of his hair, having a reddish beard in a dream means trials or temptations, and particularly if gray hair is mixed with it. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Flowers If an impostor sees himself carrying a bouquet of flowers in a dream, it means constipation, while if a sick person sees that in a dream, it means his death. A bouquet of many varieties of flowers and colors in a dream represent the world, its constantly renewed youthfulness and its material pleasures. Grape Black grapes during the right season symbolize fear and disease; otherwise they mean trouble and worries. They are also a harbinger of cold weather. Grapes were believed by the ancient Arabs to be harmful. They also thought that no benefit could be derived from the black color and hated black grapes in any case. Among other things, they argued that the grape was originally white, placed near the son of Nuh (Noah). When his father cursed him, it suddenly turned black. Certain dream interpreters felt that the black grape meant nothing but money that will not last. Separate from the bunch, it symbolized extreme fear or chills. Others regarded the black grape as a not so bad dream, in view of a verse in the Holy Quran: “And of the fruits of the date-palm, and grapes, whence ye derive strong drink and (also) good nourishment. Lo! therein, is indeed a portent for people who have sense.” (“Al-Nahl” [The Bees], verse 67.) Sky • Being in the first of seven heavens: (1) The dreamer will become a minister, if eligible, because, says Ibn Siren, this heaven is the orbit of the moon, the sky’s prime minister. (2) Death is near.
• Being in the second heaven (the orbit of Mercury): The dreamer will acquire knowledge and wisdom and enjoy self-sufficiency or contentment or will become a leader.
• Being in the third heaven (the orbit of Venus): The dreamer will be dignified and welcome everywhere and have plenty of girls and goods of all kinds, procuring the utmost joy.
• Being in the fourth heaven (the orbit of the sun): The dreamer will be close to the ruler.
• Being in the fifth heaven (the orbit of Mars): Terror, or the dreamer will become a police chief or a warrior, go to war, et cetera.
• Being in the sixth heaven (the orbit of Jupiter): The dreamer will be happy and prestigious and conclude fruitful business transactions.

Shuaib • Seeing the prophet Shuaib: (1) Will be cheated and harmed by people who deliberately weight wrongly or trick the balance, but will ultimately triumph over them. (2) God will bless the dreamer with female children who will give him a lot of joy.

Garment Wearing linen cloak in a dream also means living a dignified life. Eating a clean garment in a dream means receiving lawful earnings, and eating a dirty garment in a dream means living from unlawful money. Burning one's garment in a dream means the end of his difficulties. Ironing off the creases of one's garment before wearing it in a dream means interest in beauty, glitters and ornaments. Quince The quince itself is disliked by most dream interpreters, who regard it as a sign of disease in view of its color and because it looks as if it were gripped. Some say that it refers to a trip, owing to the etymology of the word. (The Arabic name is safarjal and safar means “travel.”) But it could be a successful or an unsuccessful journey. Red (The color red; Dignity; Nobility; Happiness) Wearing a red silken garment in a dream means a sickness. If a warrior sees himself wearing a red silken garment in a dream, it means that he will be decorated for his chivalry. Red in a dream also represents the world, its glitters and material pleasure. Beard If a woman sees herself having a beard like a man in a dream, it means that she will never beget children, unless if she has a reddish beard as the natural color of her hair. However, for a man, to have a reddish beard in a dream means trials and temptation and particularly if some gray hair is also mixed with it. Cow • A bachelor acquiring a cow: Will marry a blessed woman.
• Riding on a cow: (1) Will get married. (2) Wife will die and will inherit from her.
• Riding on an identified cow: Richness and escape from trouble and all sorts of worry.
• Entering one’s own house on a cow’s back and tying her there: Will obtain a fortune, coupled with plenty of joy and the end of worries, especially if her color was black. Conversely, if she hit the dreamer with her horns, the dreamer would lose and never be safe from his family and relatives.

Gold • Seeing gold: Sorrow and forced expenditure.
• Seeing gold covered with mud or hidden somewhere or somehow, though you know where it is: Failure.
• Perceiving gold as stored somewhere or placed in bags without seeing its color: Good dream; should expect gains, provided you are a pious person.
• Wearing gold, in general: Will enter into a marital relationship with people of a lower standard.
• Wearing a gold bracelet or bangle: Will inherit.
• Wearing two gold bracelets or bangles: Troubles are ahead by your own making, as for men gold, especially in the form of bracelets, is usually a bad omen or a reference to liars, as reportedly stated by the Holy Prophet. But for a virtuous person the same dream could mean more obedience to God and greater prosperity, in view of a verse in the Holy Quran that reads: “… therein they will be given armlets of gold and will wear green robes of finest silk and gold embroidery.” (“Surat Al-Kahf” [The Cave], verse 31.) The same dream could also mean gains achieved with hardships.
• Wearing a golden or silver anklet: Will experience fear or go to jail. In any case, anklets, for men, symbolize chains, and all sorts of jewels and ornaments for them are bad, save the pendent, the necklace, the ring, and the earring. Dream Interpreter: Various Islamic Scholars
