Neck The neck is the center of honesty and trust. Arabic months However, if one's dream takes place during the twelfth lunar month, known in Arabic as Zul-Hijjah indicates a journey then one may take it, or if it denotes a good business, one should seek it, for it is a most blessed month and it is the month of festivities and sacrifices. If one sees this month in his dream or sees himself offering sacrifices in it, or if he honour praying the festival of Sacrifice prayers in it, his dream means paying one's debts or fulfilling one's vows, repentance from sin, guidance or perhaps his dream may indicate the death of great people of knowledge, the impeachment of governors, the changing of governments, or it could mean a sudden war. Fasting Dreams about fasting have contradictory interpretations: • Dreaming of being in the Muslims month of fasting (Ramadan): (1) Higher prices (inflation) and scarcity of foodstuffs. (2) Sound religion, end of worries, recovery from a disease, the settlement of debts. • Having fasted the entire month of Ramadan: (1) Certainty after doubt. (2) If the dreamer was illiterate, he would memorize the Holy Quran. • Dreaming of recognizing the utility of fasting and wishing to fast: Quick benefits from an unexpected source. • Failing to fast during the month of Ramadan: (1) The dreamer is giving way to his instinct and passions. Ironsmith The ironsmith symbolizes an awesome, powerful, and shrewd king whom people need and turn to. The blacksmith’s anvil itself refers to a king and the iron his head (or mind) and strength. In other interpretations, the ironsmith could allude to a warlord, as fire means war and the weapons are made of iron. Mosque (Jami; Masjid) The main city mosque or the central mosque in a dream represents the king, the governor, or the ruler of a Muslim country, since he takes care of establishing the divine laws as well as he is the symbol of Islam and the decisive judge between the lawful and the unlawful. Smelling an apple inside a mosque means getting married. A mosque in a dream is like the central market that people intend daily and endeavor to make profit therein. It is a place where people will profit according to their deeds and efforts. A mosque in a dream also represents one who is to be obeyed, respected and revered such as a father, a teacher, a sheikh or a man of knowledge. Mortuary Balm The mortuary balm or other stuff used in the mummification or embalming process to preserve the corpse and keep it from stinking symbolizes: (1) Repentance for the profligate. (2) Relief from deep worries. In general, it is a good augury: • Dreaming of having or collecting mortuary balm: Piety and welfare, especially toward Muslims. • Distributing balm: The dreamer is pursuing a matter that will benefit people. • A virtuous person being anointed with mortuary balm: (1) Worldly and religious affairs will be better. Cemetery • Seeing a polytheistic cemetery: (1) Worries, sorrow, fear, and unhappiness. (2) Shaky religious faith. Dig Digging symbolizes sly backbiting, wasted speech, or simple endeavours. The gravedigger is a prestigious and awesome man. • Digging in the grave of a holy man with one’s nails: The dreamer is endeavouring to follow the path of the deceased. • Digging in the grave of the Muslims Prophet Muhammad with one’s nails: The dreamer will refresh his memory about the Sunnah (Muhammad’s Tradition) and will benefit many people. Finger (Also see Dye.) Fingers are the brother’s children, since it is believed that the hand represents the brother. Those of the right hand refer to the Muslims five compulsory daily prayers. The left hand fingers are the children of the brother or sister. The thumb is the dawn prayer, the index finger the noon prayer, the middle finger the early afternoon prayer, the ring finger, the sunset prayer, and the little finger the evening prayer. • Having long fingers: The dreamer observes his religious duties, especially prayer. The reverse is also true. • The imam (the Muslims spiritual leader) having long fingers: He is too greedy, tyrannical, and unfair to his subjects. • A finger falling: Will abandon the related prayer. • Seeing one finger in the place of another: The dreamer is performing the right prayer at the wrong time. • Biting somebody’s fingertips: The bitten one is impolite, but the dreamer is inflicting too severe a punishment on him. A Believer Seeing A Dream Anas bin Malik narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Indeed Messenger-ship and Prophethood have been terminated, so there shall be no Messenger after me, nor a Prophet.'" Supplication If one sees a group of people gathering in a circle of prayers, or doing Zikr and invoking the divine attributes in a dream, then they represent a gathering of children, growth, blessings, or waiving away sufferings. If one sees himself praying to Allah Almighty, or that prayers are invoked on his behalf in a dream, it means happiness and money. Supplications in Allah's house or in a mosque in a dream are more beneficial than prayers which are offered anywhere else. If one prays in the dark in a dream, it means that he will be saved from trials. If one sees himself imploring another person in a dream, it means that he fears him.
