Sodomy (Also see Sex, Incest, and Necromancy.) • Sodomizing a man: (1) Joy and alleviation from grief or trouble. (2) The two parties will do something wrong through ignorance. • Sodomizing the sultan (ruler or chief): The dreamer will lose his money. The reverse is true. • Sodomizing a stranger: (1) The dreamer will overspend. (2) The dreamer will render a just judgment. • Sodomizing one’s father: The dreamer is an obedient and affectionate son; otherwise he could never have such a dream, according to Ibn Siren. Pregnancy • A boy under the age of puberty being pregnant: A reference to his father. • A pregnant woman: (1) Her wealth will increase, commensurate with the size of her belly. (2) She will persevere till she makes the money she wants, which will grow constantly. She will be proud of her achievements and highly dignified and praised. Pregnancy If one sees his pregnant wife delivering a baby boy in a dream, it means that she will give birth to a girl and the opposite maybe true, except if it is common for the person in the dream to experience in wakefulness what he sees in his dream. If one sees himself delivering a baby from his mouth in a dream, it means his death, or it could mean that he will use poised and pleasant words in a conversation with someone he is careful not to offend. If a man gives birth to a baby boy in a dream, it means that he will carry a heavy burden then escape from it, or it could mean that he will vanquish his enemy, or it could mean that he may escape from a treacherous woman. If a pregnant woman sees herself delivering a child in a dream though having not had sexual intercourse with her husband, it means that she will discover a hidden treasure. Jew Interpreters widely differ on the sight of Jews in a dream. For some: • Seeing a Jew, be he young or old, means: (1) An enemy, in view of the Quranic verse that reads: “Thou wilt find the most vehement of mankind in hostility to those who believe (to be) the Jews, and the idolaters. …” (“Al-Maidah” [The Table Spread], verse 82.) Breast If one's breasts are transformed into iron or copper in the dream, it means loss of a child. A growth in children's bosom or breasts in a dream means an illness, festering wounds, or it could mean an ulcer. The nipple of the female breast in a dream represents one's personal wardrobe. Vomit If one swallows a pearl then throws up honey in his dream, it means that he will render a correct interpretation of some Quranic verses. Drinking milk then vomiting it in a dream means turning away from the truth. Drinking milk and vomiting honey in a dream means repentance from sin. Drinking blood in a dream then vomiting it as milk also means repentance from sin. If one's vomit is yellow and bitter in taste in the dream, it means repentance after having paid the price of one's crime. If one vomits mucus in his dream, it means that he will voluntarily repent from wrongdoing. Throwing up food in a dream means giving away something to someone who needs it. Swallowing what one is throwing up before it leaves his mouth in a dream means to go back on one's word. Eating what one has just vomited in a dream means prosperity and fame. Fireplace If the fireplace or the stove is not lit in the dream, then it represents distress, worries and trouble, but if it is on, then it means fulfilling one's needs and earning one's livelihood through hard work. A fireplace in a dream also represents one's wife, his tools and instruments, his vehicle, or it could represent a place of gathering, one's rank, a chair, light, a woman in childbed, a father, a mother, a pregnant woman, one's shop or a helper. Head The head represents the observer's leader or patron. This could well be his father, brother, employer, chief, husband, king etc. Thus, any defect in the head points to a similar defect in the leader or patron. Sometimes, the head represents a persons capital. Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Ismail Seeing Ismail (Ishmael) means the dreamer: (1) Will face hardships at the hand of his father, then be saved by God. (2) Will become an eloquent politician or chief. (3) Will be promised something by a truthful person. (4) Will build or help construct a mosque in view of the Quranic verse that reads: “And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House” (“Al-Baqarah” [The Cow], verse 127.) Honey And Butter Coming From The Sky It is reported either on the authority of Ibn Abbas or on the authority of Abu Huraira that a person came to Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) and said: Allah's Messenger, I saw while I was sleeping during the night (this vision) that there was a canopy from which butter and honey were trickling and I also saw people collecting them in the palms of their hands, some more, some less, and I also saw a rope connecting the earth with the sky and I saw you catching hold of it and rising towards the heaven; then another person after you catching hold of it and rising towards (Heaven) ; then another person catching hold of it, but it was broken while it was rejoined for him and he also climbed up. Abu Bakr said: Allah's Messenger, may my father be sacrificed for you, by Allah, allow me to interpret it. Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said: Well, give its interpretation. Thereupon Abu Bakr said: The canopy signifies the canopy of Islam and that what trickles out of it in the form of butter and honey is the Holy Qur'an and its sweetness and softness and what the people get hold of it in their palms implies major portion of the Qur'an or the small portion; and so far as the rope joining the sky with the earth is concerned, it is the Truth by which you stood (in the worldly life) and by which Allah would raise you (to Heaven). Then the person after you would take hold of it and he would also climb up with the help of it. Then another person would take hold of it and climb up with the help of it. Then another person would take hold of it and it would be broken; then it would be rejoined for him and he would climb up with the help of it. Allah's Messenger, may my father be taken as a ransom for you, tell me whether I have interpreted it currectly or I have made an error. Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) said: You have interpreted a part of it correctly and you have erred in interpreting a part of it. Tahayyat (arb. Testimonial greetings) The last segment of the regular Islamic prayers which is recited in a sitting posture. Once completed, one may ask for his personal needs or pray for others. If one reaches this segment of his prayer in a dream, it represents a condition or an agreement that must be fulfilled between two partners, or it could mean finding a guardian for one's intended wife (i.e., her father, uncle, brother, etcetera), without whom the marriage is not legitimate. Finger • The index finger being atrophied: A sister will die. • The thumb being atrophied: The father will die. • A man having four wives dreaming that four fingers were severed: All four will die. • Cutting someone else’s fingers: Will wreak havoc on his money. • The disappearance of the fingers: Servants will go. • Chewing fingers: The end of a fortune. • Contraction of the fingers: Will abandon or fail to sustain those female relatives with whom sex is prohibited in Islam (mother, sister, sister-in-law, et cetera). Maqam Ibrahim (The Station Of Abraham, Near The Kabah In Mecca (Makkah) The Quran says: “The First House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka (Mecca (Makkah)): Full of blessings and of guidance for all kinds of beings. In it are Signs manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to God” (“Al-Imran” [The Imran Family], verses 96–97.) • Entering Maqam Ibrahim: (1) Will be delivered from fear and feel secure. Ishaq • Seeing Is haq (Isaac) in his best shape: (1) Hardships on the part of highly authoritative people and relatives, followed by relief, dignity, and good tidings. Kings and chiefs will help increase the dreamer’s progeny. (2) A son who had severed his links with his parents will return to the father’s authority. (3) Abundance will replace financial difficulties. • Seeing Is haq in bad shape: Will go blind. • Resembling Is haq and wearing his clothes: Will escape death in extremis. Offering (Immolation; Sacrifice; Vow) In a dream, an offering represents the wife who is the delight of her husband, or the child who is the delight of his father. An offering in a dream also represents one's good deeds, although it also could mean trouble, adversities, enmity, dispute, fight, argument with one's family, an invasion, or profits from hunting. Bismalah If a deceased person writes it in one's dream, it means that such a person dwells encompassed with Allah's mercy. If the one who wrote it in the dream is alive and if he erases it or if a bird steals it from him in the dream, it means the nearing of his death and exhaustion of his sustenance in this world. If one recites it during his prayers in a dream when it is not his custom to do so, it means borrowing an unnecessary amount of money or giving preference to leaning toward one's mother rather than his father or the opposite. Ismail (The prophet Ismail, son of the prophet Abraham, upon both of them be peace.) If one sees him in a dream, it means that he will gain clarity of speech and preside over his colleagues. He also may build a mosque, or participate in such a project. It also means that someone will make a promise and be truthful about fulfilling it. Back • Seeing the back of a middle-aged woman: The dreamer is running after a matter full of difficulties and which will not culminate in success. • Seeing the back of a young woman: What is desired will be obtained a bit late. • Backache: (1) Death of a brother. (2) Difficulties facing whomever the dreamer considers his life support, such as a father, a son, a chief, or a friend. • Having so much pain in the back that the dreamer is compelled to bend: Poverty and senility. Fish Seeing sea fish covered with salt in a dream means lasting richness, because fish are preserved in salt, or it could mean burdens. If one's wife is pregnant and he sees a fish coming out of his male organ in a dream, it means that his wife will beget a son. If a fish comes out of his mouth, then it means speaking ill of a woman. A fried fish in a dream means that one's prayers will be answered. A broiled fish in a dream means travels or seeking knowledge. A large fish in a dream means money, while a small fish means difficulties, burdens and stress, because it carries more spikes than meat, beside, small fish are more difficult to eat. Mixed sized of different kinds offish in a dream represent money, trouble, liking social events or mixing with all types of people, the good and the bad ones. Eye inflammation (Disease; Ophthalmia) In a dream, eye inflammation means tightening of one's earnings, or it could mean heedlessness. Seeing one's eyes inflamed in a dream means that one's father or mother may fall sick. Inflammation of the eyes in a dream also denotes near blindness or suffering from a cataract.
