Incident - The Effect of a Dream's Meaning During a pilgrimage to Mecca, a sheikh was told in a dream that he would die on such and such date. When he returned home, he held that dream to himself and waited for the time to come. Once he passed that date stated in his dream, he waited a few more days, then told someone about it, saying: "I would have hot told you about this dream, had the date not passed." The person replied: "Perhaps you miscalculated the date, or maybe it is a confused dream." After returning to his home, the sheikh died during that same night. This is the meaning of Prophet Muhammad saying: "A dream sits on the wing of a bird and will not take effect unless it is related to someone." Dream Interpreter: Ibn Sirin
Arabic months If the dream happens during the sixth lunar month, known in Arabic as Jamada-al-Thani, and if the dream carries a good meaning, it will come, but slow and one should not contradict it. If one sees this dream during the seventh lunar month, known in Arabic as Rajab, it means that he will gain a dream and status, for it is the month of the prophet's Ascension (Miraj) and his night journey to the seventh heaven. Stone, Black (Also see Kabah.)
• Touching the Black Stone at one of the corners of the Kabah (the Muslims holiest shrine at the Haram Mosque in Mecca (Makkah)): The dreamer will take his lead from an imam (Muslim spiritual leader) from among the people of Hijaz.
• Removing the Black Stone from the Kabah and taking it for oneself: The dreamer will come out with a heresy.

Measure (Foot; Inch; Span; Spread; Width) In a dream, a measure or any of its related elements means travels. Measuring a wall with the span of one's hand in a dream means that he may travel to a nearby town. If he measures the same distance on the ground in a dream, it means that he may travel to a distant place. If one measures the ground up to two arms length in a dream, it means that he will attend the pilgrimage in Mecca. Key Holding to a key that has no teeth in a dream means cheating an orphan of his inheritance, or becoming a guardian of an estate and deceiving its rightful heirs. Holding to the key of Paradise in a dream means acquiring knowledge, lawful wealth, or receiving an inheritance. Keys in a dream also represent the coffers they open. Seeing a key in a dream also means performing a pilgrimage to Mecca. A key made of iron in a dream represent a strong and a dangerous man. It also means openness in one's life. • A reference to an illegitimate birth.
• Marrying a relative whom Islam prohibits: Will prevail over one’s family.
• Sodomizing one’s father: Will oust him from the country or be hostile to him.
• Having sex with one’s father or mother without ejaculation: Will be good to him or her. If the dream had ended with an orgasm, it would mean the reverse.
• A man dreaming or someone dreaming of him that he is having sex with his mother, sister, brother, or similar prohibited relations seen as dead in the dream: He is not supporting them as he should, but will change his attitude and become fair. It could also mean trouble and worries or, on the contrary, benefit to both parties. If they are seen to be alive in the dream, he does not have much affection for them. Agony of death If one sees himself struggling with death in a dream, it means arguing about his religion, or doubt about Allah's revelations. Death rattling in a dream also signifies preparing to take a journey, marriage of an unmarried person, moving from one house to a new one, changing one's trade or repaying one's debt, or divorcing one's wife. Church • A man praying in a church according to Christian rites: Will mix with atheists, heretics, adulterers, drunkards, or people who commit other abominations. The same would apply to a woman dreaming of attending a tumultuous marriage ceremony or a funeral at which people weep loudly, tear their pockets, and wear black.
• Remembering or mentioning Allah in a church and denouncing what the worshipers there are doing: Will work for the promotion of virtue and the deterrence of vice.

Ride Should he meanwhile fall down in the dream, it means that such a trial will not take place. If one sees himself riding over someone's shoulder backward in a dream, it means that he does not accept any advice or excuse, or it may mean that he turns to the other side if he is asked for help, or it may mean that he engages in the forbidden sexual intercourse during women's menstrual period, or that he engages in sodomy. Morning If a sick person sees the morning in his dream, it means either recovering from his illness, or it could mean his death. If one leads others in prayers in such a dream, it means travels, or making a pilgrimage to Mecca. If the dream is interpreted to be his death, then it means a good end to his life in this world, light in one's grave, or that Allah willing, he will enter paradise. If one sees the morning and solicits water to drink, or purchases food, or barters for some barley in his dream, it means that he will overcome his difficulties and dispel his adversities. Masjid If one enters a mosque riding on an animal in a dream, it means that he will cut off his connection with his relatives, leave them behind and forbid them to follow him. If one dies in a Masjid in a dream, it means that he will die as a true penitent. If the carpet or the straw mat of a mosque becomes a shredded rag in the dream, it means that the community of that Masjid is divided and corrupt. Building a Masjid in a dream also means overcoming one's enemy. Entering the Sacred Mosque in Mecca in a dream means arriving with one's bride to their new home and it could mean fulfillment of a promise, being truthful, dispelling one's fear and reaching the shore of safety. Witness (Eyewitness; Legitimacy; Testify; Truth) An eyewitness in a dream means triumphing over one's enemy, testifying to the truth and refuting falsehood. If one sees himself as a true signing witness to an agreement in a dream, it means that he will triumph over his enemies. If one sees himself witnessing a contract or putting his seal on a testimony in a dream, it means that he will loan money to the second party in the contract. Cemetery • Seeing a polytheistic cemetery: (1) Worries, sorrow, fear, and unhappiness. (2) Shaky religious faith. (3) A reference to heretic places and solitary confinement.
• A sick person dreaming of entering a cemetery: Will die from his ailment and end up there, especially if he had built a house in it in the dream.
• Entering a cemetery with awe, crying and reading or reciting the Holy Book or praying in the direction of Mecca (Makkah): Will mix with benefactors, be well noted and versed in religion, and will benefit from all that he sees or hears.

Wadi A wadi in a dream also could represent a prison because of the steep mountains surrounding it and the difficulty in crossing it. Seeing oneself in a wadi floating in the air until one reaches a desired altitude in a dream means working for a powerful person. A wadi in a dream also represents a warrior, a bandit, a highway robber or a lion. Drinking Water Consuming clean, sweet water in the dream means he will enjoy a clean and happy life provided he does not know its quantity nor is he aware of himself being in a state of tuhr nor does he know himself to be on a journey in a strange, unknown place. The same applies if the water is not sweet. Palm Tree The dry palm tree symbolizes a hypocrite.
• Cutting a palm tree: The death of a great and knowledgeable man and/or his children.
• Owning many date-palms: (1) For a ruler, an additional province or more power. (2) Good business for the merchant. (3) Gains for the market dealer.
• Strong winds uprooting palms: An epidemic will erupt in the area, or God or the ruler will punish the people and make them suffer.

Mother (Educator; Eye-brow; Governess) Seeing one's mother in a dream has a deeper and a stronger meaning than seeing one's father. All the same in one's dream, seeing her means attaining one's goal. Man's dreams are most pleasing when he sees his parents, grand parents or a relative. If one is going through difficulties and sees his mother in a dream, it means that help will come his way from sources he does not anticipate. Debt (Blood ties; Promise; Tripping) Paying one's debt in a dream means returning from a journey. In a dream, debts signify humiliation, abuse and insults. If one sees himself paying his debts in a dream, it means that he will re-establish his connection with his relatives, strengthen his blood ties, feed the poor, solve a difficult problem, acquire a better understanding of religious matters, or return from a trip.
