Islam • An atheist or a polytheist dreaming that he has passed unto “Darul Islam” (the Islamic fold): Will die quickly, because, says Ibn Siren, the camp of Islam is that of Eternal Truth.
• A Muslim dreaming that he is saying, “I have become Muslim”: His life will improve and he will become more faithful to God.
• A Muslim dreaming that he has become Muslim again: He will be safe from all plagues and pests.

Swim • Swimming in a valley till reaching the desired spot: Will serve and obey a tyrant and God will protect the dreamer.
• Swimming well in the high seas or in the deep: Will embark on an ambitious mission and rise.
• Being afraid while swimming: Will be jailed or get ill inasmuch as the dreamer covered a long distance. If he thinks (in the same dream) that he has escaped danger, he will die in such an ordeal. Courage means that he will really be safe.
• Swimming on the back: Will cease to indulge in sins and repent.

Yusuf The prophet Yusuf (Joseph) talking to the dreamer or giving him something: Will become an expert in the interpretation of dreams, as well as history and its chronology.
• Seeing Yusuf: (1) The science of dream interpretation. (2) Kingship and succession. (3) The loss of one’s family, children, and other relatives. (4) A machination against the dreamer. (5) Drought and high prices, as was the case in his time.63 (6) Prison and release from prison. (7) Luck with women, as Yusuf is said to have been of an unequalled beauty. (8) Victory over the enemy, followed by a pardon. (9) An allusion to seas, rivers, and drainage facilities. (10) The transportation of the remains of dead persons from one country to another. (11) An outstanding miracle such as the one that happened to Yusuf’s father when he recovered his eyesight and he received the shirt sent to him by his son. (12) Will be the least lucky among his brothers, who will be so wicked as to let him go to jail, but he will then be saved by God, his brothers, will submit to his authority, and he will forgive them along with other enemies. Vessel • Riding in a vessel or being picked up by a vessel in the middle of the sea after being sure of drowning: (1) Will be saved from disease, atheism, poverty, debts, and worries. (2) Will get married or buy a slave girl who will satisfy you and save you the trouble of looking outside. (3) Will be freed from jail, unless the ship was not sailing, which would mean exactly the reverse.
• Sailing in a ship with the dead: Will be saved from fleshly temptations.
• Sailing in a vessel on the high seas: Will embark on a journey full of dangers. The farther the ship is from the shore, the more remote the dreamer’s relief will be.
• Reaching the shore and disembarking from the vessel: The dreamer will disobey God, in view of the Quranic verse: “And when they mount upon the ships they pray to Allah, making their faith pure for Him only, but when He bringeth them safe to land, behold! they ascribe partners (unto Him).” (“Al-Ankabut” [The spider], verse 65.) Patient • A miserable person or one facing hardships seeing a patient: Victory, joy, and money.
• A rich person seeing himself as a patient: Will become needy because the sick is in need of care.

Owl In a dream, an owl represents a tyrant ruler, or a haughty and a dangerous thief who works alone without helpers. An owl in a dream also means being unemployed, or aversion of fear and bewilderment. In a dream, an owl also represents a traitor. Jumping Otherwise, it could mean facing dangerous or severe adversity. In a dream, jumping from place to place also means false news, fabricated accusations, changing moods with one's friends, or finding oneself bored with them. Guard Dreaming of being guarded by someone else or surrounded by many means: (1) Things will go wrong as obstacles or complications will surge and matters will ultimately be stalled. (2) The dreamer will be ill. (3) Paradoxically, if the dreamer is facing hardships, relief will come. It could also mean a high post, influence, prosperity, and the end of fear for the one who is being protected. Ride Riding over the shoulder of another man and forcing him to accept it in a dream represents one's funeral, and it means that the other person will have no choice but to carry the coffin. If the person carrying him in the dream is willingly doing so, then it means that he will care for his needs and bear his encumbrance. Worshipping fire (Fire worshipper; Magi; Magus; Mazdaism; Sorcerer) Seeing an old man worshipping fire in a dream means facing a person who cares little about obliterating his enemy. Angel • Angels greeting the dreamer: Will be gifted with foresight and a happy ending.
• Seeing oneself as an angel: (1) If facing hardships: Relief will come. (2) If a bondman: Will be freed. (3) If an honest person: Will rise to leadership. (4) If a patient: Will die.
• A Jew seeing angels praying for him: Will embrace Islam in view of the Quranic verse: “He it is Who blesseth you, and His angels (bless you), that He may bring you forth from darkness unto light; and He is Merciful to the believers.” (“Al-Ahzab” [The Clans], verse 43.) Jerusalem Seeing oneself performing prayers at the sacred mosque in Jerusalem in a dream means receiving a great wealth from an inheritance. Facing Jerusalem during one's prayers instead of the Kabah in a dream means a pilgrimage to Mecca. Record keepers Seeing the scribes of the records in one's dream brings him glad tidings in this life and in the next.
