Incident - Interpretations of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) Once Prophet Muhammad (Alayhi-Salam) related a dream to his blessed companion Abu Bakr, God be pleased with him. He said: "I saw in a dream that we were climbing a ladder. At the end, I reached two steps further than you did." Abu Bakr replied: "O Prophet Muhammad, God Almighty will call your soul back unto His mercy, and I shall live two and one half years after you have departed from this world." In another dream, he said: "I saw a flock of black sheep tailed by another flock of white sheep following me." Abu Bakr replied: "The Arabs will follow you first, then others will follow them." Incident - Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) drinking glass of milk Abdullah the son of Omar, God be pleased with them, reported: "I heard Prophet Muhammad, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, saying: 'I was given a glass of milk in a dream. I drank from it until I could see the quench reaching the tip of my fingers, then I gave what is left to Omar.' Abdullah asked: 'How did you interpret it, Prophet Muhammad?' He replied: 'Knowledge.'" Incident - Abu Hanifa digging the grave of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) It is related that when Imaam Abu Hanifa (RA) was still a child, he dreamed tht he was digging the grave of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam). He related the dream to one of his tutors in the maktab. The teacher said to him: “My child, if your dream is genuine then you will follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) and you will also do great research in his Shariah”. Incident - Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) seeing dreams before the important battles In this dream, he saw them circumambulating the Sacred House with peace and tranquility. God Almighty confirmed his dream in the Holy Qur'an saying: "Truly did God fulfil the vision for His Apostle, that ye shall enter the Sacred Mosque, if God wills, with your minds secured, head shaved, hair cut short, and without fear. For He knew what you do not know, and He granted beside this, a speedy victory." (Qur'an 48:27). Incident - Musa bin Ja'afar seeing Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) in a vision Abdullah bin Malik Al-Khuza'i went at once, and delivered the Message of the Caliph, and gave the man the three thousands Dirham, then added: "You are a wonder. Tell me what happened!" Musa bin Ja'afar replied: "I will tell you. Last night, I was between sleep and wakefulness when Prophet Muhammad, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, came to me and said: Oh Musa, you have been unjustly imprisoned." He added: "Say these prayers, and you will not sleep tonight in jail." I replied: "I beseech thee by my mother and my father, Messenger of God, what should I pray?" Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, replied: "Say: '0 Lord Who hears every single sound, Whose act of mercy precedes every bound, Who clothe the bones with flesh and resurrects the people after death, I ask Thee by the glory and holiness of Thy Beautiful Names. Incident - Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) seeing Prophet Esa in a dream Abdullah Bin Omar, God be pleased with them both, reported that Prophet Muhammad, Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam, has said: "Last night, I saw myself at the Ka'aba. There I saw a person with a fair skin and a most beautiful appearance circumambulating the Ka'aba. I asked: Who is this man?' A voice replied: "This is Jesus son of Mary.' Then walked an ugly-looking man, whose skin was wrinkled, and who was blind in his right eye. I asked: Who is this man?' A voice replied: 'This is Al-Mas'ih-Dajjal, the impostor of Christ.'" Vessel • Riding in a vessel or being picked up by a vessel in the middle of the sea after being sure of drowning: (1) Will be saved from disease, atheism, poverty, debts, and worries. (2) Will get married or buy a slave girl who will satisfy you and save you the trouble of looking outside. (3) Will be freed from jail, unless the ship was not sailing, which would mean exactly the reverse.
• Sailing in a ship with the dead: Will be saved from fleshly temptations.
• Sailing in a vessel on the high seas: Will embark on a journey full of dangers. The farther the ship is from the shore, the more remote the dreamer’s relief will be.
• Reaching the shore and disembarking from the vessel: The dreamer will disobey God, in view of the Quranic verse: “And when they mount upon the ships they pray to Allah, making their faith pure for Him only, but when He bringeth them safe to land, behold! they ascribe partners (unto Him).” (“Al-Ankabut” [The spider], verse 65.) Piss • Pissing sand or mud: The dreamer performs his ablutions neither properly nor regularly.

• Pissing worms: The dreamer will be prolific.
• Pissing a snake: The dreamer will have a son who will turn hostile to him.
• Pissing a she-cat: The dreamer will have a girl by an Oriental woman born in a coastal area.

Goose Geese symbolize women with superb bodies and fame and fortune. Otherwise, they represent powerful people whose influence is omnipresent on land and in the seas, but who are overwhelmed by worries and sorrow.
• Geese honking in a place: There will be sobbing and wailing in that place.
• Looking after geese: Will mix with or prevail over prestigious people and earn money through them.

Islam • An atheist or a polytheist dreaming that he has passed unto “Darul Islam” (the Islamic fold): Will die quickly, because, says Ibn Siren, the camp of Islam is that of Eternal Truth.
• A Muslim dreaming that he is saying, “I have become Muslim”: His life will improve and he will become more faithful to God.
• A Muslim dreaming that he has become Muslim again: He will be safe from all plagues and pests.

Jump • Jumping to cross a river, a pit, or a well, et cetera, and succeeding: A change for the better and will be saved from some evil and reach the safe shore very quickly.
• Jumping but staying late in that jump till withering away: Will die.

Swim • Swimming in a valley till reaching the desired spot: Will serve and obey a tyrant and God will protect the dreamer.
• Swimming well in the high seas or in the deep: Will embark on an ambitious mission and rise.
• Being afraid while swimming: Will be jailed or get ill inasmuch as the dreamer covered a long distance. If he thinks (in the same dream) that he has escaped danger, he will die in such an ordeal. Courage means that he will really be safe.
• Swimming on the back: Will cease to indulge in sins and repent.

Gourd • Eating raw gourd: (1) Will have a quarrel and break with somebody. (2) Will be scared by a jinn.
• Sitting in the shadow of gourds: (1) Reunion with family or friends. (2) Reconciliation.
• Getting gourds from a watermelon farm: Will heal from a disease, thanks to a medicine or a prayer, in view of the story of the prophet Yunus (Jonas) as related in the Holy Quran: “Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; and We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him….” (“Al-Saffat” [Those Who Set the Ranks], verses 145–46.) Swim According to Ibn Siren, it is better to wake up after swimming one’s way to safety than to regain consciousness while still struggling in the water.
• Swimming: Will challenge an opponent and defeat him.
• A ruler dreaming that he wishes to swim in the sea but the latter is agitated: He will fight another chief. If he crosses the sea by swimming (in the dream), he will defeat his opponent.
• A scholar swimming in the sea: Will acquire more learning.

Yusuf The prophet Yusuf (Joseph) talking to the dreamer or giving him something: Will become an expert in the interpretation of dreams, as well as history and its chronology.
• Seeing Yusuf: (1) The science of dream interpretation. (2) Kingship and succession. (3) The loss of one’s family, children, and other relatives. (4) A machination against the dreamer. (5) Drought and high prices, as was the case in his time.63 (6) Prison and release from prison. (7) Luck with women, as Yusuf is said to have been of an unequalled beauty. (8) Victory over the enemy, followed by a pardon. (9) An allusion to seas, rivers, and drainage facilities. (10) The transportation of the remains of dead persons from one country to another. (11) An outstanding miracle such as the one that happened to Yusuf’s father when he recovered his eyesight and he received the shirt sent to him by his son. (12) Will be the least lucky among his brothers, who will be so wicked as to let him go to jail, but he will then be saved by God, his brothers, will submit to his authority, and he will forgive them along with other enemies. • Using a stick or a perch to jump: That stick or perch symbolizes an extremely powerful person or a strong asset on whom the dreamer could rely in whatever he aims for.
