Incident - Asking to marry a Stout and Black Women A person approached Ibn Sirin (RA) and revealed the following dream: “I saw a black, stout woman in my dream whom I asked to marry me. Please tell me what is the interpretation?” The Imaam asked: “Do you know this woman?” He replied: “Yes:”. The Imaam said: “Then why the delay in works of piety? Hearing this, the person approached the woman, proposed marriage to her and subsequently married her. Not many days passed before she suddenly died and he became her only heir to all her wealth. Silk There are contradictory interpretations about silk, for basically it means illicit money. Red silk is a good dream for women and a bad one for men. It could also mean abstract thinking or total isolation to consider some matter (meditation). White silk is better than colored silk, and colored silk is better than black, which means trouble and worries. As usual, the yellow color refers to disease. Resuscitate (Live Again) • Dead women rising beautifully dressed with full makeup: The dreamer or the family of these women will witness the revival of certain matters, depending on how beautiful the women looked and how well they were dressed. White dresses refer to religious matters, red to entertainment, and black to wealth, power, and mastery. If their dresses are tattered, it means poverty and worries; dirty dresses symbolize the accumulation of sins.

If one disappears within the earth without going through a hole in his dream, and if he remains a long time therein until people think that he will never come out again in the dream, it means self-deception, arrogance and love for the world, and such a person will die in that pursuit as a consequence of adventuring with his own life. Silver Though silver is better than gold in the interpretation of dreams, bangles and bracelets are a bad omen for men, who are not supposed to wear them, and a good augury for women. A man wearing a silver anklet will experience fear, be chained, or go to jail. For men anklets are chains. Anyhow, no ornaments are good for the masculine gender in dreams, except rings, pendants, necklaces, and earrings. For women, all jewels and ornaments are, generally, good dreams in view of a verse in the Holy Quran that reads as follows: “Beautiful for mankind is love of the joys [that come] from women and offspring, and stored-up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded [with their mark] and cattle and land. • Entering a quicksilver mine and coming out with something: The dreamer’s wife is a wicked woman who cheats him.
• Selling mercury: The dreamer will be safe from the intrigues of a cunning woman.
• Drowning in mercury: The dreamer will be enslaved by shrewd and enticing women who have more than one card up their sleeve.

Kohl This is a sort of eye powder or powder of antimony, a preparation of soot and other ingredients, to darken edges of eyelids. It is extensively used by veiled Arab Bedouin women, whose eyes are the only thing seen of their body, which renders them very attractive. It is also used for newly born Muslims and by certain Muslim men. Kohl and its usual container made of silver or the kohl bottle symbolize women. They also refer to the sharp eye.
