Shadow (Under the sun, in the dark, or otherwise.) In a dream, a shadow represents changes affecting one's life in the world and his elevation or abasement. A shadow in a dream also means guidance, repentance, true monotheism and contemplating the Maker and His creation. If one moves but does not see his shadow moving in a dream, it means abrogating the laws, discarding what is permissible, adopting what is unlawful, death, becoming motionless, or losing one's senses. The same interpretation applies if one's shadow disappears under the sunlight, or under the moonlight, or in the night lights, or if his reflection disappears from the water surface, or from any shiny surface. Sweat Sweating means harm. According to Abu Said Al-Waez: • Wiping one’s sweat: Wishes will be fulfilled. • A ruler dreaming of stinking perspiration from under the armpit: Will overspend and earn a bad reputation. • A commoner dreaming of stinking perspiration: Will commit adultery. Plunge Dreaming of plunging deep into the earth without there being a hole in it and thinking that you will die in it or will not come up to the surface means you are jeopardizing or cheating your conscience by running after worldly matters and might lose your life in the process. Nasal mucus Blowing one's nose and using someone's bed sheet in a dream means betraying him with his wife. Wiping and washing someone else's nose in a dream means concealing his secret life in front of his wife. Eating one's nasal mucus in a dream means cheating one's son in his money. If a beast or a bird comes out of one's nose when he sneezes or blows his nose in a dream, it means that he will beget a son from a secret affair with a servant or an employee. Grave The grave or grave pit symbolizes the prison, and vice versa. Graves symbolize a leaning toward ignorance or the ignorant, religious corruption, a catastrophe, worries, and regret for having followed the ignorant, but ultimate repentance. The gravedigger is a prestigious and awesome man. • Wishing to visit the tombs: Will pay a visit to prisoners. • Entering a grave and stepping on the bones of the dead: Will be expelled. • Digging a grave or a pit for oneself or somebody else: (1) Will build a house. Tayammum (arb.) Performing one's ritual ablution but without water in a dream means the nearing solutions of one's problems. Tayammum is usually performed instead of the regular ablution in the absence of water, or because of a preventing illness, etcetera. However, observing the religious rites and substance of the act remains solemn. Tayammum in a dream also may mean a journey, or an illness. If the act is performed with a dry surface such as wood, stone, dry sand, earth, or a substance that does not stick to the skin in a dream, it means that one's travel plans may be infeasible, or it could mean that he will become cheep, or pursue his evil desires. Semen (Sperm) In a dream, semen represents a growing and a lasting capital, whether there is little or much of it. If one sees a drop of semen coming out of his reproductive organs in a dream, it denotes money that will surface. If the man's semen spatters over his wife in the dream, it means that he will buy her a new garment. Owning an earthenware jar filled with semen in a dream means uncovering a hidden treasure, or becoming wealthy. If the husband is spattered with the semen of his wife in a dream, it means that he will satisfy his desire for her and attain his purpose. Mountain Swallowing a mountain in a dream means commanding and controlling ruthless and strong men. Climbing a mountain until one reaches a flat surface in a dream means serving orphans, or nursing sick people. Entering a cave inside a mountain in a dream means reaching safety. The good or evil emanating from seeing a mountain in one's dream depend on its fertility or bareness. Climbing a mountain and enjoying its vegetations and its sweet fresh waters in a dream means sheltering one's chastity in the company of one's wife, or learning a knowledge or a trade that will satisfy one's needs. Onion Eating a strong smelling or a fragrant herb in a dream means contempt, loathing on the part of some members of his family toward him, or it could mean that hidden matters will finally surface. If such herbs are the type of bulbs that require skinning before eating, then they denote curiosity and eavesdropping, representing what is usually discarded. In a dream, onions for a businessman represent the element of money, and for a traveller it represents health, success and a safe return. Onions in a dream also mean distress and difficulties. Young man If one meets an unknown young man whom he dislikes in a dream, it means that such an enemy will surface and people will abhor him. If one happens to like him in the dream, then it means that he will face an enemy whom most people like and sympathize with. If a young man sees himself turned into an old person in a dream, it means that he will suffer major losses in his life. A young man or a teenager in a dream mostly represents an enemy, for a teenager rarely respects or heeds the advice of his peers. Dye As for women, dyeing means happiness, new clothing, receiving gold, or a wedding celebration. If the dye exceeds the required surface of the hands or the feet in the dream, it means being struck with fear and worries caused by one's business or friends. If a man sees himself in a dream dyeing his hair or beard with other than henna, it means that he will suffer from what he fears most. Dyeing or suppressing one's feelings for a sick person means recovering from his ailment. Dyeing one's hair black in a dream means hiding one's bad conditions, spoiling the benefits of one's deeds, or hiding one's evil intentions. Dig • Going to a grave and digging the earth with one’s nails or trying to unearth the dead: Will probe the life of the dead dwelling in that grave to follow his pattern. • Trying to unearth one’s body: The dreamer is a materialist, running after worldly matters, and will succeed only if he managed to disinter the corpse. • An animal digging the earth or soil in one’s yard with its pawns or hooves: Beware of an enemy. • Digging with one’s nails in an inappropriate place: The dreamer is after something very difficult. • Digging a grave or a pit for oneself or somebody else: (1) Will build a house. (2) Will settle in that area. • Digging a grave on a surface: Will live long. • Digging in a grave with one’s nails to find a living person emerging from it: Welfare and joy, especially if the dreamer is a virtuous person. If one sees himself living in a grave in a dream, it means that he will be incarcerated in a prison. Building a grave in a dream means building a house. If one enters a grave but does not witness a funeral in his dream, it means that he will buy a house. Digging a grave in a dream means getting married, though through tricking the woman to get her consent. Standing over a grave in a dream means committing a sin. If one sees himself digging a grave and upon completing his work, if he discovers that what he has dug is standing on the surface of the earth and has no walls in the dream, such ground represents the abode of the hereafter. Holy Book If one sees himself spreading the pages of the Holy Book on a flat surface in a dream, it means that he is seeking wisdom which he will get, or that he may receive an inheritance. If one sees himself putting the Holy Book over his shoulders in a dream, it means that he will receive an appointment, or be entrusted with a duty to guard, or that he will memorize the Holy Quran. If one finds himself trying to eat the pages of the Holy Book in a dream, it means that he is a regular reader of the Quran. If one sees himself trying to eat the pages of the holy Book but is unable to do so in a dream, it means that he tries to memorize the Holy Quran from time to time but keeps forgetting what he learns.
