Incident - Presenting a Interpretation It is related that Ameerul_Mumineen, Mansoor, dreamt that he had lost all his teeth. In the morning he called for an interpreter. The interpreter came and after listening to the dram, said to Mansoor: “All your relatives will die.” Upon this, Mansoor became infuriated, saying : “May Allah lock your mouth! Incident - The conflicting interpretations It is reported that a person came to Ibn Sirin (RA) and said: “O Imaam! I dreamt that I was proclaiming the athaan!” The Imaam interpreted the dream thus: “Your hands shall be amputated (through stealing)”. Then came another person who related a similar dream. The Imaam interpreted his dream thus. : “You will proceed for Hajj.” The Imaam's students were amazed at these two conflicting interpretation of two dreams which resembled each other in every respect. Incident - Allah giving piece of iron and a sip of vinegar It is related that a man came to Jafar As-saadiq (RA) and said: “ I dreamt that Allah gave me a piece of iron and a sip of vinegar. What is the Interpretation of this dream?” The Imaam replied: “Iron depicts hardships, for Allah says in Quran : And we have sent iron wherein is material for mighty war. But it is possible that your children may learn this tradeoff Dawood (AS) (for he was a blacksmith by trade). As for vinegar, it means you will be afflicted with a disease from sometime, at the same time acquiring abundant wealth. Donkey To own donkeys in a dream means mixing with a group of ignorant people. If one's donkey becomes obstinate and does not move forward except with beating in a dream, it means that one's sustenance and earnings come only through supererogatory prayers and increased devotion. An obedient donkey in a dream represents the vigilance of its owner. Driving a donkey inside one's house in a dream means bringing new income. Only the braying of a donkey is disliked in a dream, though the rest is generally beneficial. A donkey in a dream represents honesty in seeking one's livelihood and earning clean money. Brandishing A Sword Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger (Sallallaahu-Alayhi-wasallam) as saying: I dreamt (while asleep) that I was about to migrate from Mecca to a land abounding in palmtrees and I guessed that it would be Yamama or Hajar, but it was the city of Yathrib (the old name of Medina), and I saw in this dream of mine that I was brandishing a sword and its upper end was broken and this is what fell (in the form of misfortune to the believers on the Day of Uhud). I brandished (the sword) for the second time and it became all right and this is what came to be true when Allah granted us victory and solidarity of the believers. And I saw therein cows also and Allah is the Doer of good. These meant the group from amongst the believers on the Day of Uhud and the goodness which Allah brought after that and the reward of attestation of his Truth which Allah brought to us after the Day of Badr. Citron Citron, also called Adam’s apple or pie melon, is a good thing to dream of in view of its nice smell and other qualities. It refers to the devout Muslim who reads the Quran very often. The best that could be dreamt of is a green one. One, two, or three citrons mean children. Many pie melons mean money and a good repute.
• Eating sweet citrons: Will amass money or obtain money made by somebody else.
• Eating sour or bitter citrons: Will have a mild disease.

Wine If he buys wine or presses it in the dream, it means that he will foster religious distortion, an act that will cause him to suffer from a curse. Ring If a woman sees herself removing her wedding ring in a dream, it means the death of either her husband or of a close relative. A ring in a dream also connotes a band, an encumbrance, or a shackle. If one's ring disappears and only the stone remains in the dream, it means that once the responsibilities are gone, good memories of the person will remain. A man wearing a golden ring in a dream represents innovation, and the results will bring about afflictions, betrayal, or a revolt. Wearing a tight ring in the dream means that one will be let off from a vicious woman, or that he will be spared from a wicked duty. A borrowed wedding ring in a dream represents an ownership that will not last. If one buys an engraved ring in a dream, it means that he will own something he never owned before, such as a house, a vehicle, or perhaps he may get married, or bear a child. Cat The case would be worse if the cat dreamt of was of the wild type. By contrast, a quiet she-cat means a comfortable year, a savage one a year full of harm. The she-cat is sometimes a reference to tender motherhood. Other contradictory symbols include: (1) Dispute or controversy. (2) Adultery. (3) The product of adultery or an abandoned child whose father cannot be identified. (4) The absence of gratitude. (5) The failure to fulfil a promise or honour one’s obligations. (6) Being quick of hearing. (7) Whispers. (8) The hypocritical flatterer and gadabout. The she-cat usually symbolizes an evil and deceitful woman. A woman told Ibn Siren she dreamed that a cat had introduced its head into her husband’s stomach, taken something out of it, and eaten it. The great seer said that a black thief would enter her husband’s shop that evening and steal 316 dirham's from his safe. And so it was. There was a black bath attendant in the neighbourhood. The people of the area got hold of him, and he confessed to his crime and restored the money. When asked how he managed to know all that, Ibn Siren said that the cat was a thief, the husband’s stomach his safe and what was taken out of it the money. As for defining the exact amount, Ibn Siren said that each letter of the alphabet had its specific number. Therefore cat—in Arabic sanur—stood for 316 dirham's.
